The loss for WVU does not do much for the Mountaineers except making the last 3 games on their schedule carry a little more meaning. The Mountaineers were in 4th place before the game and are still in 4th place. They are only one half game ahead of Louisville for that spot, but beat Louisville head to head and therefore own the tiebreaker. However WVU does still have some tough remaining games. They finish with homes games versus Cincy and Georgetown before going to Villanova to close out the regular season. UCONN has now won 3 straight and moved themselves up into that coveted 8th spot in the standings. The are currently one half game ahead of 4 other teams all vying for that last bye in the Big East Tournament. UCONN still has a home finale against Louisville on Sunday before closing the season out on the road in South Bend and Tampa.
