PAT BOSTICK
I was able to talk to Manheim Township and future Pitt quarterback Pat Bostick (6’3” 220) today to check in on how his senior season is going and what he thinks about the season Pitt is having.
Coming off of a 31-21 victory over rival Hempfield, the Blue Streak prepare for another cross-town rival Warwick this Friday. Pat had three touchdown passes last week and estimates his number so far this season to be about 68% passing for 980 yards, 9 touchdowns and just 1 interception, in the teams first four games.
“The season is going good, real good,” said Bostick. “We are 3-1 right now and we are just going to keep getting better as a team.”
Bostick has been able to see Pitt play a couple times so far this season, including the season opener in which he attended. At the game he hung out with fellow Pitt commits Chris Jacobson and Myles Caragein, as well as some players Pitt is still recruiting. But Bostick leaves the recruiting to the coaches.
“It’s a tough decision. I tell them why I committed, but I don’t really push, or put pressure on anyone,” he said. “From a friendship aspect you want to leave the choice up to them, that way if they don’t choose Pitt, there won’t be any hard feeling and we can all still be friends.”
As for next year, Pat still plans to start Pitt this January to get a jump-start on college life and the offense.
“I chose Pitt for a lot of reasons, but one of them especially is the style of the offense. I like that it is not a simple offense, it takes a complete quarterback to play in that offense, and I look forward to that challenge.”
It is not quite sure how the quarterback vacancy that is left by Tyler Palko will be filled, but you can bet that the name Pat Bostick will be mentioned quite a bit when the discussions come up.
“I am really just looking to go in and get better, after that we will just see what happens from there.”
