WHERE'S WALT?!

OC Matt Cavanaugh Leads an Offensive Offensive Display

It truly pains me to write this because I have been so supportive of Matt Cavanaugh since he has taken over as Offensive Coordinator at Pitt, but it doesn't come close to the disappointment I felt this past Saturday afternoon watching his offense on the field. This is an offense that has play makers everywhere you look, yet Cavanaugh can't find any of them. This is an offense that has former Heisman candidate (no longer after losing to Bowling Green) Shady McCoy and all you can think to do is pound him up the middle and never let him get to the outside. This is an offense that has more depth at WR now then maybe ever in the programs history and the biggest pass Pitt gets goes for 17 yards. I just have one question, WHERE IS WALT HARRIS!?!?

I am 100% serious. Walt couldn't coach a defense or over see an entire team if his life depended on it, but he sure could run an offense. Imagine what Walt would do with this talent. A WR with Antonio Bryant speed and Larry Fitzgerald size in freshman Jonathan Baldwin would win the Biletnikoff 4 straight years with Walt calling the plays; he didn't have 1 catch on Saturday. And people (me included) have been blaming the young and inexperienced O-line? This line looks like All-Pros compared to the lines Walt scraped together. Hell, he put ads out in the Pitt News looking for linemen.

Walt was last seen at the Fox Chapel-Highlands high school football game on Friday Night. Someone (read Steve Pederson) please go and get this man back on the sidelines, quickly!!
